Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child from Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her mother was at home as a mother. Michael Dennis Kevin, her twin brothers. McCormick has always loved performing, dancing and creating show puppets. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she was crowned her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to being contacted by the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to work in show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as a major actress in 1964. McCormick was in a commercial for Mattels the newest doll baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical Wind It up and It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was among 1200 other children for the part of the eldest daughter to be a part of The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had a blended-family. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick said in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having ended her relationship in the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. The actress was only 16 when the incident occurred; he was 19. She told me that it could have been possible, but we never had the right time to do it.
